How to Have A Great Day
Right now, focus on the letter A. Look at it. See it in your mind when you close your eyes.
Now, imagine that every time something you think is painful or disappointing or frustrating or demoralizing has the letter A connected to that thought. At the end of the day, if you have paid a lot of attention to that kind of stuff, you have a very strong association with the letter A. You might say you had an A Day.
However, what if you taught yourself to pay attention and acknowledge moments, even if very brief, when you smiled or laughed, did something successfully, felt love or gave love, received a compliment, noticed that you got up, opened your eyes and you are alive, find out that someone you love or like let you know that something good or blessed happened, stopped to see the sun rise or set, felt even a moment’s surge of energy or sense of wellness or relief from pain, discovered that you lost a pound or a size in your clothes, or just had a good moment – – whatever that means for you. And, what if you gave each of those experiences a letter. Maybe a G or an R or a T.
What if you kept notes of all that “good” stuff? What if all those letters added up to this: WHAT A GREAT DAY! Yes, you still had some A moments, but when you take note of all of the other moments it changes things. Doesn’t it?
So, I hope today you embrace and take notice of the “good” stuff and have A GREAT DAY.
